Diet
: Live food,
Small fish, Flake, freeze fried & frozen and pellet food.
Breeding
: Bi-parentally Custodial Open
Spawner. Parents normally cleans the spawning site dig a crater
after the eggs have been deposited on the spawning site, and move
the fry to the crater as soon as they emerge from the eggs.
Sexual
Difference :
Males are generally bigger with nochal hump when mature, female
are rounder.
Description:
One
of the more aggressive fish, they prefer aquarium with vegetation
and bog wood. The yellow body and black markings are striking
especially during breeding and the parents hovering over the fires
is a sight to behold. A aquarium of minimum 50 Gal. is a necessity
for them to thrive.
